Why three inches

Animal enclosures are humid by nature, and a metal wall in January is cold on the inside face. The owner's problem was condensation running down the panels and dripping. Three inches of closed-cell puts the foam well past the vapor-retarder threshold, bonds to the panel so no air can reach the metal, and delivers R-22.2, which meets the prescriptive wall value for Climate Zone 5 in one product with no framing changes. The gables and roof deck were quoted separately so the owner could phase the work.

Every FoamGuard quote is a data sheet. Wall, gable and roof areas measured on site, the foam product named, the thickness and the R-value it yields stated, and a fixed price. If a number on the sheet does not match what you remember from the walkthrough, we fix the sheet before anyone picks up a spray gun.

R-values are nominal manufacturer values (aged, ASTM C518) as quoted on the data sheet, not a guarantee of energy savings. Customer names withheld.
